List of our Trustees
The Simon Community's Management Committee meet monthly to manage its affairs
and provide strategic advice. Day-to-day management is delegated to the Charity's
Director, who in turn is supported by a staff team. The Management Committee is
currently comprised of the following members:
John Yeudall - Chair: John joined Simon as a volunteer in 1972 and worked in
the Commuinty for 1½ years. He was a member of the Simon Community management
committee from 1974 to 1989, during which time he served as chairman and treasurer.
John rejoined the Management Committee this year to be part of the process of
renewal in the Community and to use his experience help reintroduce some of the
Simon philosophy and basic principles into the charity's work.. John is an architect
in private practice.
Luke Blair: Joined The Simon Community as a trustee in 2005. Luke is
a Director of London Communications Agency, who provide PR and communications
advice particularly for London organisations and projects. Luke was also previously
a journalist. He brings communications and consultancy experience to Simon's campaigning
work.
Philip Burke: Joined The Simon Community as a trustee in 1998 and served
as treasurer from 2003 - 2004. Philip works in housing and social services and
was a fulltime volunteer with The Simon Community in 1993.
Alan Cole: Joined The Simon Community as a trustee in 1999. He was formerly
a resident of The Simon Community and joined the Management Committee to give
back to the Community in return for the opportunities it gave to him. He is also
an active co-worker (part-time volunteer) with Simon; regularly helping out with
the early morning tea runs and organising social events for Community.
Anthony Downes: Joined The Simon Community as a trustee in 2005. Anthony
is currently homeless and a resident of The Simon Community. He joined the Management
Committee to represent the voice of Simon's residents. Anthony has a background
is care services and catering.
Bill Moore: Joined The Simon Community as a trustee in 1999. Bill is
ex-homeless and a former resident of The Simon Community. He has also been a Simon
Co-worker for the last ten years. Bill helps with the Community's campaigning
and his work involves helping to organise the bi-annual headcounts of rough sleepers,
liaising with the press, giving talks to schools and community groups as well
as organising sponsored walks, taking part in streetwork and providing shift cover
in the Community's houses.
Ian Ogilvie: Joined The Simon Community as a trustee in 2003. Ian has
recently retired from being Director of Fundraising for the Royal National Mission
to Deep Sea Fishermen. He has worked for the British Deaf Association and for
MIND and his first major charity work was with the Church Urban Fund. Ian's extensive
charity and fundraising experience is a great asset to Simon's fundraising sub-committee.
Ian was also awarded an MBE for services to charity last year.
